After 20 years of serving as a business development, compliance, monetization and termination strategist, I have learned to appreciate that there are levels to success. But if we focus only on our beginnings, we stunt our gifts, talents, and growth. Today I want to discuss how we stunt our growth because of what we don’t know about the direct correlation between the money and the mind.
Many business owners start out as an entrepreneur. We are led, fed, miseducated and hustle for our next paycheck. Unfortunately, to achieve greater success, we can’t stay stuck in the ENTRE mindset. The ENTRE mindset is a beginner, newbie, stumbling in the dark type of person. ENTRES must enter somewhere and often start a kitchen table dream or start a business as a result of losing a job, a marriage or because they hated living in strife. Most entrepreneurs don’t know what they don’t know. So they find themselves spending more than they consume before they fully appreciate their MISSION. Been there, done that, and got several t-shirts. But thank God I didn’t end up bankrupt while learning strife lessons through life.
On the other hand, a CEOpreneur appreciates that s/he is building a business. While they may not pay themselves YET, they know they MUST pay themselves something. They realize that as the Chief Everything Officer, they are the visionary of their business, the manager of resources, the contractor that does the work and the strategist who must hire, fire and deliver products, services, and solutions to their clients, customers, community and tribe. And while CEOpreneurs may be the only one in their business, they are consuming and providing to create a business that solves a problem.
The major difference between ENTRE/CEOpreneurs is their mindset. Those in ENTRE stage are looking for help. While CEOpreneurs have a VISION linked to a PURPOSE that has a PROCESS connected to PEOPLE and PARTNERS that increase their PRODUCTIVITY. Just know, you get what you focus on. Just know, if you want to uplevel your success, stop focusing on the beginnings of starting a business and start building one. Today, I want you to assess your footsteps and make mind and money shifts where necessary.
